Stories...

Drinking my favorite winter warmer—hot chocolate with a sprinkle of cinnamon and whipped cream... delicioso!

It's been extra cold around here lately... I mean cold in the upper 20s.  Ice and frostiness tint the atmosphere in white, and the grass of the early morning wakes up stiff under a thick blanket of ice.  My car, too, comes to view covered in itty bitty shinny stars made out of iciness and chilliness and I get all excited because well... even when it is super cold and I still have to scrape the ice off my windshield, it is warmer, or warmer than what I'm used to anyway... and it is so nice not to have to wear those super duper disgusting bear coats I used to wear every day to work back at the house in the roses... And who would want to wear a coat in the South anyways?  I just won't.  No sir I should not, even if I have to freeze my tail off I won't...  ;)

Oh did I just mention that we now live in the deep South? Yes, we're not in the house in the roses any longer... you would probably won't believe me if I tell you some of the strange things that have happened to us in the short time we'd lived in this little town; being an outsider in so many ways as we are... but all is true, and it is freaking scary too I can tell you that much... Oh but don't you worry about me... I have already sent a note upstairs for mercy and protection...

You know, in this fallen world that’s full of danger, who doesn't need a bodyguard, or two? “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” Ah yes, we should be alright.

So I've been decorating our nest for the Holidays... not too much stuff, as I don't see the need to over decorate. Only a small tree in our dinning room and some sparkle on the big square table...

The view I get from this room of the outside, with all the birds and the woods behind is all I need... When I first saw this house I knew right there and then that this little sunroom had another purpose... it was to be my new dinning room.  And I love it... love to sit here at whatever time of the day and be instantly surrounded by the outside from the inside...  just magical.

Few and simple decorations; yet lovely and just the perfect amount of joy.

I have added some sparkles on my nails as well... for magic and holiday fun!
Don't you just love sparkles!  I do I do!

Oh and have I told you I discovered I have a magical tree?

Ah yes, it is that same tree that one day long ago got separated from the rest of the trees behind it; in the forest behind our house, and walked towards the house and decided to be the heart of the backyard; the gathering place for everyone and every thing...  I'll tell you more about it later.

"The universe is full of magical things,
patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper"

  1. I do love sparkly things too and your new home and its magical tree and gorgeous dining room suit you to a T. That is a favorite Scripture of mine about God sending an angel before us to prepare the way. Stay safe.

Sparkles? Oh yes! I love sparkles! I add a coating of sparkles to nail polish too. In fact, I just got a new bottle of pink sparkles. Which I'm going to use today. For going to a Christmas party tonight. :-)

  13. Your new home looks beautiful and yes... magical! (Like attracts like, I see. Your blog is always magical).

I, too, moved to a new house recently; just a few days before Thanksgiving. (On a little 2 acre lot that's sort of in the country. I'm still super excited over having cattle, and a donkey named "Hugs" as next door neighbors. Lol!)

After 9 long months I finally have internet again, so I'm looking forward to reading about your new home and seeing all your beautiful photos.

  15. Happy Dec 15 Cielo.. today is beautiful in San Diego, going to be high 70's. Ever changing weather, one day cold and rainy and the next summer is back again. Even had snow close by recently. Love your breakfast, sun, everything room. That room was meant for hours of contemplation no matter what the season.. I looked at all the photos on Pinterest and it is a joy too see what a lovely soul you are. You bring beauty, magic, whimsy and sweet simplicity to all situations. Your family must treasure you.
The poem,"She Walks in Beauty like the Night" came to mind ... You are special... hopefully your new neighbors will discover this soon.
    Enjoy.....Sherry
