In the house

The happy little sun room-dinning room under the last light of day....

Peaceful, cozy, and filled with insignificant lovelies-like jewels in my soul...

True happiness when at home; shadows pampering the corners, soft sunshine caressing windows and then I go out and all of a sudden I'm surrounded by the amazing vastness of this ocean of a sky and ancient trees swaying shaggy heads—in approval or disapproval with the wind?—whispering secrets to each other and there I am in the midst of it all uncovering mysteries, stretching out my soul to hear what the trees have to say under this umbrella of quietness, and humbleness...  until there's no more hesitation in my soul... I know where my true place on this earth is....

And here on the big square table, all the pieces I need to furnish my romantic home... and I don't need to spend a fortune to create this feeling; which it really is more than just a look, because it is more of a nostalgia and beauty of the heart than anything....

I must had been a good girl this past year because 'the bearded man' gifted me on Christmas Day with all I wanted... and more.  Ah yes, I got the Selena Lakes book I wanted, plus one more.  Yes, I got two Selena Lakes books.  Lovely! Thank you Santa!

After reading all your comments on my previous post I decided I needed some help in regaining my 'debilitated' magical powers. So yesterday I made my 'magical' bread to see if that would help... one of my favorite recipes ever...

What's in it?  Nothing fancy really... Just fruits and nuts... oh oh and my very own secret ingredient of course! What is it? A little bit of my own personality in this bread, that's it—a lit bit sweet, a lit bit nutty all mixed into one!  Ha!

Tiny wisdom:  Be good to yourself!

  4. Thank you Betty... I truly appreciate that. It seems that some of the old friends of the house in the roses might have lost their way here... thank you for advertising.

  5. I am not a blogger; just one of the anonymous readers that love the beautiful blogs you ladies create. I'm glad to see you have posted today. I've been worrying about you and praying for you to have peace in your current circumstance of adjusting to this huge change in your life. The House in the Roses was one of the first "decorating" blogs I began reading and was one of my favorites, if not my most favorite! I'm glad you are continuing to blog, and I will continue to pray for peace and contentment for you. Thanks for all the beauty you spread! Joanie

  6. Hola Cielo,
First of all I think you are right, it is easy to make a beautiful, gorgeous romantic home or nook with loved things, and yours are all beautiful and magical as "one can see", if they are not muggles :D, and yours are dearly loved. So Great Beauty is there.
But having to deal with muggles daily is a Herculean Feat....you must find some super strength from somewhere. I found that to be so confident with your own magick that muggles begin to doubt their own mugglness can work like a charm in keeping their effects upon you at bay teehehe.
It also sounds to me, like you are maybe adapting to a newer more expanded kind of Magick....one which the environment must work with you. Where is it that you no longer have any doubts about where your true place on Earth is, if you can share that ?
Happy to hear you got your books. :-)

    1. Ah yes.... when one's soul shines, muggles begin to doubt their own mugglness... that's so true. And I have attest to that myself... but I do have to say that my magic it doesn't really comes totally from me... a lot of it comes from 'above'.... Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." Real magic there, I'd have to say. Thank You, Father.

  8. Dear Cielo,

Sometimes the miracles we are astounded by,.. are the natural events planned by our Heavenly Father. There is a rhythm of nature that is soothing,...... gentle,. ... that wants us to feel peaceful,..smell the sweet moss,...the fall leaves,... their adding to the earths nutrients as they die,.. the musty smell of their decay, then, their new birth to the new growth in the near future. Every season is a miracle. All with its own allure,.. and sweet scent!! Their death is the fertilized nutrients for the new season. New flowers are more beautiful when we put the old dead leaves and flowers upon them. When they die,..all their beauty and nutrients are absorbed into the roots!!!! Dear Friend,...grow where you are planted!! Your new Home will thrive and grow for your heart when you put your old leaves and flowers on the top of your new forest garden!! Sincerely,.. Kristi

  9. What a beautiful thought this is—"your Home will thrive and grow for your heart when you put your old leaves and flowers on the top of your new forest garden". As I see it, "the old leaves and flowers", our sense of wonder and delight, grace and hope and the peace which invite those around us into the mystery within. Lovely
